During the last years the concept of pets in society has changed, promoting the household to consider them as another member of the family. But owners find some problems during their care because they have personal occupations like work and study .One of these problems are the feeding during the absence of the master. That is why was decided to design and construct an automatic smart feeder to half breed dogs, the goal of this project is to give to the people an efficient solution that help to feed their pets. The article describes the process used for manufacturing, based on mechatronics design methodology integrating mechanical, electronic and communications components. In the article the results of the implementation of the prototype are presented with notification system by text message to the pet owner. The prototype built has a height adjustment mechanism food dish and allows the user to configure by touch interface up to three servings per day.
